Anna's walking!!

Well Anna finally decided to walk on her own today... it took a chocolate chip cookie in Katie's hand to get Anna to take the steps. She's been walking holding hands for a while, but wouldn't let go, and she finally did it at our friends' house today. She really good at it too, she wasn't falling at all, only when she decided she had enough. We're so proud of her!

No, the blog is not "broken", yes we're still alive, no I didn't lose my camera, yes Christmas was great, Tyler was so much fun, Anna is crawling around now, I've been working a ton and been busy with holidays and birthdays and work. Thank you everyone for all of the generous and amazing gifts. Tyler had his 3rd birthday party today at Green Mountain Gymnastics. I think all the kids had a ball, or was it a foam block? Sorry for the lack of pictures through the holidays. Here's a big one...

Here's a few pictures and a couple of videos. Anna refuses to crawl, but is walking behind a walker a little bit and when holding hands, so that's fun. We got our first "significant" snowfall on Friday night as well, only 6 inches or so (actually, I wouldn't know, Katie and Tyler shoveled, I stayed inside :-)

Smoked Gouda anyone???

This cheese factory borders our neighborhood, the big white tanks are full of milk, but I guess with all the smoke of who knows what burning, they evacuated our neighborhood to be safe. 11pm a fireman knocked on the door and told us we were being evacuated, so we loaded the kids into the car and went to Gail & Paul's for the night. Tyler was a little confused... "We're going to Nanny and Poppy's house"..."Oh, we haven't seen them in a while...that was a short nap...hey! It's really dark outside...Hey Daddy, did you see those fire-trucks over there? Where are we going? Can I have some goldfish?"

Street Rods

Sunday I took Tyler to the Street Rod show at the fairgrounds. I wasn't sure if he would be mad because he couldn't sit in them and climb around, but he was very good and excited just to see them... I can't tell you how many time he said "Look at this one Daddy... I should buy one of those". Not kidding. I didn't know if he meant buy a little matchbox version, or the real car. His favorites were the ones with the flames. Anything with flames he would run over to all excited... "I like this one Daddy". Unfortunately my camera battery died before I got to the show winners and some of the coolest ones, but I got some good ones just the same.

ChrisFieldsend.blogspot.com turns 500!!!!!

This entry marks the 500th post on our blog! Yup...crazy huh? It's hard to believe, I know. Thanks to everybody for visiting and leaving such nice comments over the past few years. We don't see all of our friends and family nearly as much as we'd like, but with this website we aim to keep you all close and up to date.

Take a few minutes and look back in the "archives"... I have to say, it's amazing how much Tyler has done in just 2.5 years!

I hope everyone had a happy 4th of July. We sure did.. we walked up the street and watched the Hinesburg parade with a bunch of friends, and had a cookout in the evening...which was really fun except when I sliced my finger open trying to open a package of hot dogs... but other than that, the day was a success. We watched the fireworks from our backyard. Katie really out-did herself, and I think everyone enjoyed themselves. We have a lot of food left over, including beer, so if anyone is interested in having another cookout, let me know. I've got enough stuff.

On Saturday we went for a little hike in the woods in Williston and then headed to Gail and Paul's for the night so we could take the kids to Clark's Trading Post the next day (they live in Peacham, VT, about 45 minutes from Lincoln). Tyler loved the train ride, and the ice-cream... I'm not sure he was too impressed with the bear show but come to think of it, how is he supposed to know that it's not normal for a bear to ride a Segway?! I mean, he's never seen a bear before, so for all he knows they are supposed to play basketball and ride bikes. But I was impressed. His attention span was short, but he was having fun none-the-less. Sunday night I took him to the Vermont Lakemonsters (single A affiliate of the Wash. Natl's)... again, not too interested in the game for long, but loved to watch "Champ" the mascot doing flips and driving around on an ATV in between innings. We left after about an hour, but it was neat to take him to his first ballgame.

Well it's been a long time since I uploaded any pictures. We've been staying pretty busy, but mostly I just don't sit down at the computer as much anymore. Anna hasn't exactly been going to bed easy... she still wakes up 3-5 times a night, and takes about an hour to get to sleep at night. She's getting there though. She sucks her thumb sometimes, and can grab and hold things, and puts everything she gets in her mouth). Some people think she's starting to look more like me. I think she's getting brown hair under the baby fuzz... you'll have to judge for yourself :-) Tyler is having fun in the yard (as you can see from the pictures), and besides me backing over his tricycle (while he watched from the window...and screamed in horror (seriously)) he seems to be enjoying every minute of the day(s). Always wanting to go outside, swing, slide, play in the sandbox, or splash in the pool (his or Brady's), he's very active. He is talking so much as well, it's really a riot to listen to him and have a conversation... he reminds us every morning to feed his fish (Sick...that's it's name...don't ask...only he could tell you why). Anyhow, I hope you're all enjoying the summer (or is it still spring?).

Well spring is finally here...at least up here it is. This weekend we put up a swing-set and set up the sandbox. Tyler loves them both! Anna probably does too, but she can't say so yet...
